Welcome to the HISSA website.

By way of introduction, HISSA is a Supporters Association that has been set up with a view to helping raise funds for squad strengthening in what are pretty desperate times for Hunslet Hawks Rugby League Football Club, a team that plays in the third tier of professional Rugby League in the North of England.

As you may know, the refusal by the Rugby League powers to admit the club into Super League created a serious knock-on effect, with many supporters deciding that the game wasn't worth following anymore. Average crowds of between 1500 to 2000 have now dwindled to between 300 and 650, well short of what it takes to keep a professional Rugby League club on an even footing. Without trying to sound too alarmist, it may well be that this is our last chance to help the club stave off the threat of extinction, a club that has provided the game with many of its greatest players through the years.

HISSA works through people filling in a simple Mandate Form to make monthly donations from as little as £5, which are then passed on to the club to assist in paying or purchasing players, and although it is appreciated that times are also hard economically for people in their everyday lives, and that there are far greater priorities than Hunslet Hawks Rugby League Football Club, if you can contribute, no matter what the amount, it will be greatly appreciated, and go a long way towards prolonging the club's distinguished 124 year history.
